The office of Anne Milgram, New Jersey's attorney general, not only knows Facebook. It actually developed a system for the most popular social networking site to use.
Seriously, the AG's office came up with a way for Facebook users to report unwanted online advances and offensive material to authorities, according to a story in the Newark Star Ledger.
Facebook, with its 100,000 million visitors, already uses a system for reporting online predators. But a New Jersey investigation found that social networking sites don't do a great job investigating complaints about minors being solicited for sex.
Milgram's office believes its system will make it easier to report problems. Facebook will test the system, "Report Abuse!", for six months, to see if it's better than what the site now uses. According to the chief privacy officer at Facebook, the Web site gets about 100,000 complaints a month.
