Kudos to DC Mayor Tony Williams, who is picking up the pace on his blog. Williams took some heat on the 13th floor a few weeks ago for clumsily starting a blog, and then letting it sit fallow for long chunks of time.

williams-chef-w-text-2.JPG The mayor's had a good run this past week, posting something new nearly every day. Even better, he's set his political filter on "medium," meaning that genuine insights into the mayor's thinking occasionally slip through.

Yesterday, for example, Williams unloaded on the media: "How about exposing fraud, abuse, and more often, gross incompetence?" Williams also has an interesting post on eminent domain, wading into a post-Kelo debate that has been mostly dominated by right-wingers threatening to condemn Justice Souter's farmhouse in New Hampshire.

Williams even makes fun of his famous lack of, well, fame. In a post titled, "And You're With?" he recounts a conversation he had at a recent conference with a person who--gasp!--didn't recognize him. "Maybe I really have a unique knack of bringing it down a notch and lowering everyone's pulse rate to dangerous levels? Do I have a future in anesthesiology?"
