Right now, state and local officials in Florida are preparing for Hurricane Wilma, briefly clocked as the most powerful Atlantic storm on record. And the Gulf Coast, of course, is still reeling from the most destructive storm in U.S. history.

NASA has a really interesting time-elapse clip of satellite images showing the entire hurricane season so far, which is on track to be the busiest hurricane season ever recorded.
