DHS Secretarty Janet Napolitano Confirmed as UC President

The University of California has a new leader. The regents on Thursday confirmed the nomination of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to be the system's 20th president.

The first woman to hold this post, she will earn a base salary of $570,000, slightly less than the base of her predecessor, Mark Yudof, and nearly three times as much as she earned as a Cabinet secretary.
