John Feinblatt is chief advisor for policy and strategic planning to New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and is criminal justice coordinator for the city. He also leads the mayor's national coalitions on guns, immigration reform and infrastructure investment.
Before joining the Bloomberg administration, Feinblatt was the founding director of the Center for Court Innovation, which was the recipient of a 1998 Innovations in American Government award from the Harvard Kennedy School.
He also was the founding director of New York City's Midtown Community Court, which was as created as part of the economic revitalization effort in Times Square and became the model for more than 60 community courts in the United States and abroad.
The co-author with Greg Berman of the 2005 book "Good Courts: The Case for Problem-Solving Justice," Feinblatt has served on New York State commissions on probation, the future of the courts, and alternatives to incarceration.
