Dorothy Stoneman is a GOVERNING contributor. She is the founder and president of YouthBuild USA, the national support center for 273 YouthBuild programs and a leader in advocating for youth engagement in civil society. She is chairman of the National YouthBuild Coalition, with more than 1,000 member organizations in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the Virgin Islands.
