Dan Liljenquist, a Republican, is a former Utah state senator and is a principal with the Retirement Security Initiative, a bipartisan national advocacy organization for fair and sustainable public pensions. He was honored in 2011 as a Governing Public Official of the Year for his successful effort to reform Utah's public pensions and is currently involved in pension-reform efforts in several other states.
Liljenquist is founder and president of Liljenquist Strategies LLC, a strategy consulting firm focused on public-sector pension and benefits reforms, and director of special projects for Intermountain Healthcare Inc. He is a former president of Focus Services LLC, a business-services company. He received his law degree from the University of Chicago.
