The amount of time that states have to comply with the 2005 REAL ID Act. This is the fourth extension the federal government has given states -- only 13 of which are currently in compliance.
Only 13 states issue driver’s licenses that comply with the federal Real ID law, but states that do not will have at least six months to bring their licenses up to those standards.
