Michael Rothman is executive director of Eskolta School Research and Design, a nonprofit organization he founded in 2010. In addition to working in the Massachusetts Department of Education, the New York City Department of Education and New Visions for Public Schools, he previously served as executive director of the Project for School Innovation, a nonprofit he helped found.

Rothman holds a master's degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a bachelor's degree in political science from Brown University.
