John Martin is a contributing editor for Governing. A former managing editor for the magazine, he created and edited Governing's website. From 2010 to 2016, he edited and published GovManagement Daily, an email newsletter on public-sector management.
Before joining Governing at the time of its launch in 1987, Martin was an editor at newspapers in North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania and at a national news service in Washington, D.C.
