Jim Simpkins is a research affiliate with the Edunomics Lab, which is affiliated with the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. He is a consulting analyst who has performed research and analysis on various aspects of K-12 education in the United States for clients including the Center on Reinventing Public Education and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
He previously served as a group program manager at Microsoft, leading teams that designed and executed several of the company's database and personal-finance products. He holds a B.A. in mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
