James Brudney holds the Joseph Crowley Chair in Labor and Employment Law at Fordham University Law School. He joined the Fordham faculty after 19 years at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He served for six years as chief counsel and staff director of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Labor and is co-chair of the Public Review Board for the United Auto Workers International Union and a member of the Committee of Experts of the International Labor Organization.

Following graduation from Yale Law School, Brudney clerked for federal District Judge Gerhard A. Gesell in Washington, D.C., and then for Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun. He received a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Award to do research and lecturing at Oxford University in the fall of 2000.
