Transit Equity Starts at Home, Not in Washington
A federal law has done little to advance transportation fairness for low-income communities. Progress is up to local leaders.
Hayley Richardson is communications associate for TransitCenter, a New York City-based foundation that supports innovations in public transit across the country. In her role as communications associate, she translates transportation policy into easily digestible media.
Previously, Richardson worked in community outreach at the New York City Department of Transportation and has spearheaded active transportation campaigns across the country. She is an alumna of the George Washington University and the Pratt Institute, and was recognized as a 2017 Rudin Emerging Leader in Transportation.
