Elisa Jayne Bienenstock is a college research professor in the College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University. A mathematical sociologist, she uses a blend of formal, computational and empirical approaches to investigate the relationships among elements of human interaction, such as power, status, inequality, conflict, cooperation, coalition formation, reciprocity and reputation.
A consultant to commercial and government organizations focused on developing novel and accessible approaches for modeling human behavior, Bienenstock holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California at Los Angeles.
