Amy Finkelstein

Amy Finkelstein is the John & Jennie S. MacDonald Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is the co-founder and co-scientific director of J-PAL North America, a research center at MIT that works to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. She is also the founding editor of American Economic Review: Insights and co-director of the Public Economics Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research. In 2018, she was a recipient of a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship.

Finkelstein received her Ph.D in economics from MIT in 2001, her master's degree in economics from Oxford in 1997 and her bachelor's degree in goverment from Harvard in 1995.
