D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier on Post-9/11 Info Sharing
Speaking at the annual AFCEA Homeland Security Conference, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier discussed the importance of information sharing in public safety and the improvements the region has made since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
The Washington, D.C., metro area has 32 law enforcement agencies, making information sharing between them more important than anywhere else. Speaking at the annual AFCEA Homeland Security Conference yesterday, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier discussed the importance of information sharing in public safety and the improvements the region has made since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. "The gap really wasn't that the intelligence community didn't wanna share information with us at the local level," she said. "They didn't understand our need to know."
