Estimates of Median Household Incomes Dip in 2010

New figures from the U.S. Census Bureau show median household incomes dipped slightly in 2010.

The national estimated median household income dropped from $51,190 in 2009 to $50,046 in 2010, according to annual American Community Survey data.

Maryland residents topped the list of incomes, with a median of $68,854. Mississippi’s $36,851-estimated annual income was lowest in the country, according to data.

Figures reflect incomes for the previous 12 months in inflation-adjusted dollars. The Census Bureau calculates estimates from surveys conducted annually and releases figures for geographic areas with populations of at least 65,000.
