The state and the region badly need rain. I don't know what was in the prayers of those 250 people. But today in Atlanta, it's 71 degrees and fair. Sunny and 70 degrees in Savannah.
I don't know what this says about the power of prayer. I'll leave that up to Christopher Hitchens to debate with Pat Robertson.
What does this say about public prayer? At the very least, that governors, as powerful as they may feel, aren't as powerful as they think. And that mixing politics and prayer is a dicey business.
Ten day forecast? No more than a 40 percent chance of rain. For the majority of those days, the chance of rain is 10 percent.
