There was a lot of 13th Floor chatter about whether big gubernatorial victories could help Democrats pick up legislative seats in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.

Well, in the New York Senate, Democrats made a net gain of zero seats. Republicans lost one seat to "other."

In the Ohio Senate, Democrats made a phenomenal gain of one seat. Now the GOP majority is down to a measly 21-12.

Democrats gained no ground in the Pennsylvania Senate.

Democrats made no gains in the Florida Senate, either, but did pick up seven seats in the House. The GOP state House majority is still 78-42.
