Appearing on "The Tonight Show" on March 1, 2004, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said it would be "fine with me" if state law were changed to allow gay marriages.

When Jay Leno asked, "Would you have any problem if they changed the law?" Schwarzenegger replied, "No, I don't have a problem. Let the court decide. Let the people decide."

But Schwarzenegger decided otherwise himself, announcing this week that he would veto a same-sex marriage bill approved by the legislature.
