ped-sign.jpg From the Washington Post's Off/beat blog, we learn that a town in Spain is going to fight sexism by replacing half of the males figures on its road signs with female silhouettes.

Was this really an issue? Do women feel subjugated by road signs?

Also, as Off/beat rightly points out, what exactly makes a silhouette feminine? Long hair?  A skirt? A purse?

Seems like there's more potential for sexism in deciding that than there was in the original signs.
