Gov. Mark Sanford has flown out to Sullivan's Island to be with his wife and sons, AP reports.

That's a shot of a room in their house that I copied over from a Charleston Regional Business Journal story in March noting that the Sanfords were putting the place up for sale. That would fall within the five-month timeframe Sanford described in talking about when his wife knew of his affair but obviously there's no way at this point of knowing whether there's a connection.

Politico has a round-up of jokes from the late-night comedians, including a video reel. Not great, overall. Here's my favorite:

"I have to be careful here, I haven't had much luck with jokes about governors" said Letterman, who couldn't resist adding: "Why can't he be like our governor and use a local escort service?"

Anti-tax activist Grover Norquist gets off a good line in a Washington Independent piece rounding up disappointment among fiscal conservatives. At least, in a "Grover is always Grover" kind of way.

"It does indicate that men who oppose federal spending at the local level are irresistible to women."
