Now the fallout from Sanford's inclusion on Time's list is heating up. Democrats are using it against him, which isn't surprising. What's more intriguing is the response from Sanford's fellow Republicans.

The folks at redstate.org attribute Sanford's making the list to liberal bias at Time. The thinking is that Time is conspiring to derail a Sanford presidential bid before it even gets started. Says one commenter: "I think this bodes very well for Sanford. If the liberals would go out of their way to single him out like this, they must be a little afraid."

But wait: if Republicans like Mark Sanford even more as a mainstream media martyr, then hasn't Time helped, not hurt, his presidential chances? Hmmm. Maybe Time and Sanford are secretly in cahoots...
