We were having some dialogue on this page in recent days about the impact of third party candidates. Note that a Green Party candidate has more than 25,000 votes in the Virginia Senate race -- more than enough to swing that race (and with it, perhaps, control of the U.S. Senate).

Peter Hutchinson has 7 percent of the vote in Minnesota, any fraction of which would have been enough to make a difference in the nearly-tied Pawlenty-Hatch race for governor.
