The task force will include up to 15 members, according to Dayton's order. They will include Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius, Human Rights Commissioner Kevin Lindsey and Public Safety Commissioner Mona Dohman. Four members of the state legislature representing each of the four caucuses will join. Dayton will appoint up to eight additional members with expertise ranging from child psychology to school administration.
"It is a high priority of this administration to ensure that every Minnesota school provides a safe and welcoming environment, where every child is accepted and valued as he or she is, so that each can thrive and learn," Dayton said in his order.
The task force's meetings will be open to the public. Its recommendations will be due by August 1, 2012.
