Maine moved to strip about 30,000 low-income Medicaid patients from the state-run health program Wednesday, formally challenging federal officials on a key provision of the health law. The state says the June Supreme Court decision, which largely upheld the 2010 law but overturned a requirement that states expand Medicaid, also releases states from the law's ban on striking current Medicaid enrollees at least until 2014.
