It also appeared on Forbes.com yesterday as a headline to an Associated Press article written by Geoff Mulvihill. Both are the truth, but, because of that very fact, neither is the whole truth.
As Zach indicates, this decision has major political implications, although those implications would be more clear-cut had the court simply legalized gay marriage. As it stands, if the second interpretation is what sinks in, you can expect conservatives to be angered and energized. If it's the first one, the ruling won't have much of an impact.
