disney-1.jpgThe L.A. Times says a California sex offender program was criticized by state lawmakers who complained that 23 offenders had been housed within 11 miles of Disneyland. A big kerfuffle began and the state fired its parole chief.

So, what IS the sufficient number of miles from Disneyland for sex offenders to live? A ballot initiative in November would require high-risk sex offenders to reside at least 2,000 feet from a school or park. That means sexual predators could live 56,080 feet closer to Disneyland than where those 23 sex offenders had been placed.

Maybe the ballot question ought to read, "2,000 feet from a park or a school and at least 12 miles from one of our major tourist attractions."
