A few highlights: 83 percent of Angelenos now say the LAPD is doing "a good or excellent job." That's presumably because crime has tumbled. Is that because the LAPD has performed better? Comparisons with neighboring jurisdictions suggest so. It's also interesting to note that use of force has dropped significantly, even as the number of arrests (and arrests resulting in convictions) has soared.
