Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, who's in the worst shape of all?

The Kaiser Family Foundation has been making the answer to that question its business. Every month it compiles state by state housing foreclosure rates, upticks in unemployment rates and the monthly rate of change of participation in food stamps. That gets mashed together to come up with an overall ranking of stress in the states. This month's misery rate "winner" is Nevada with 62 foreclosures per housing unit, 5.8 percentage change in monthly unemployment and 45.1 percent change in monthly food stamp participation.
Second place went to Florida. Much-beleaguered Michigan doesn't even show up until 7th place, which it shares in a tie with Georgia.

The states in the best shape? North Dakota and Nebraska.
