election2006.jpgWith one day until THE day, I've compiled a list of where to find election results in all fifty states. If you're only interested in the races that have garnered national attention, you're best bet is big media sites (I'm personally partial to cnn.com).
Here on the 13th Floor, we'll have results and analysis of governors' races, downballot elections, legislative races, ballot measures and the important local contests.
But if you're curious about lower-profile contests or focused on a particular state, hopefully these links will help. I e-mailed the office of the secretary of state or the board of elections in each state, asking for their preferred link for election results. The ones they gave me are below.
Surprisingly, a few states still don't produce real-time election results on the Web. In those cases, I've included a link to a major media site in the state. In cases where I didn't receive a response, I've linked to the secretary of state/board of elections site and, in case they don't offer results, also included a link to a media site.
One other note: a couple of states sent me links to results sites for the media that are kept secret so that the hoi polloi doesn't slow them down. I never knew those existed.
