Do Governors Have a Prayer?

rain.jpg I just checked the weather in Atlanta today. It's 52 degrees and very sunny, (see the bright yellow sun on weather.com?). Georgia has had it with these sunny days. The state needs rain. Bad. So today, the governor will ask everyone to pray for it, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

"Gov. Sonny Perdue, who has asked Georgians to pray for rain today, and at lunchtime will convene with various religious and political leaders on the steps of the state Capitol to seek divine intervention in the state's months-long drought."

Hey, it worked for Alabama.

So stay tuned to this space. Or check the weather tomorrow. If this works, shouldn't the 50 U.S. governors consider praying for a lot of things that states could use? For Georgia's sake, and for other states in the Southeast who need it, I hope it rains. However it happens to come about.
