Digital Crime Fighting

It was William Bratton who brought criminal justice into the information age, launching New York City's CompStat under Mayor Rudy Giuliani. He's stepping down now from the top post in LA, but the revolution he helped launch continues. Many cities now use statistics and other data-rich approaches.

In my articlebelow, I call digital crime fighting the "holy grail" of criminal justice. Despite some success, it seems that so much more could be done. This articlefrom the NY Times proves it--suspected terrorists wanted by the FBI still have their pilot's license because the TSA and FBI aren't linked.
