Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Starts a Podcast

Joining the ranks of comedians, radio hosts and millennials with microphones, Mayor Rahm Emanuel has started a podcast.

Joining the ranks of comedians, radio hosts and millennials with microphones, Mayor Rahm Emanuel has started a podcast.

It's called the "Chicago Stories" podcast, with City Hall billing the mayor as meeting with everyday Chicagoans and special guests in his office" and hearing "their stories of the Windy City."

The first episode features Haymarket Brewing, which has a restaurant and pub at Halsted and Randolph streets and recently opened a tap room and production brewery in southwest Michigan.

Haymarket operations director Mike Gemma and brewer Trevor Hagen talked to Emanuel about the city's craft brewing culture, and the conversation let the mayor lay claim to some craft beer bona fides.

"I can't think of a conventional beer I've, you know, a commercial beer that I've ordered in the last five years," Emanuel said.
