An employee of the Department of Business Assistance there was suspended for 10 days for, among other things, seemingly insulting an economically depressed area of the state, a news story said. The employee entered a picture caption contest of a conservative blog site with the words, "Martinsville: easy to leave." One legislator suggested suspention wasn't enough. He thought the employee should be fired.

So, be careful out there on the Internet. But do drop us a line now and then. Perhaps from a personal, rather than a work email account.
