An Unfortunate Acronym

Texas Governor Rick Perry continues to hold both polling and fundraising leads over his numerous and colorful opponents in his reelection bid this year. But having raised $10 million doesn't mean he's too proud to cash a modest check now and again.

Texans angry about the state's recent business tax hike are sending Perry checks for one, two or three cents -- or even a nickel, if they are feeling generous. Perry's campaign has been diligently coding them under the category, "A Small Supporter," or, as it's called in his database ASS 06.

"In hindsight, it probably wasn't the best choice for an abbreviation," campaign flack Robert Black told the Houston Chronicle.
