runway-1.jpg In Lexington, KY, last Fourth of July, a handful of attractive teenage girls drummed up support for mayoral candidate Bill Farmer, Jr. The good-looking high school and college girls wore Farmer t-shirts, handed out American flags and encouraged people to vote for the candidate, a current council member.

But the girls weren't volunteers with Farmer's campaign. They were paid from Images Model and Talent Agency. Farmer had hired them to work the parade. According to the agency owner, the campaign specifically requested "cute young teenage girls."

Farmer stands by the move, but he's reimbursing his campaign for the cost of the talent. Meanwhile, the next time you're at a political rally, don't assume the hottie handing you a campaign button is there just out of devotion to civic governance.
