2009 Webby for Best Government Site: "Making Infrastructure Sexy"

This week, the 13th annual Webbys were awarded to Web sites that exemplify the best on the Internet each year. The distinctive aspect of the awards is that the winner's speech should be only five words, making Twittering seem like a writing a novel.

Many of the speeches exhibit gratitude. Others are funny and or snarky. The winner's speech for recieving the Webby for best government Web site:

"Making infrastructure sexy, oh yeah."

The winner, BayBridge360, documents the retrofit of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, producing slideshows and timelapses of the improvements made to the bridge. A map of the bridge is divided into six parts, and users can focus in each section of the bridge.



The site is produced by the Bay Bridge Public Information Office, and funded by the Toll Bridge Program Oversite Committee.
