Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a possible presidential candidate, has flown to Washington for Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress. The Republican, who served in the House for two decades, has lifetime floor privileges and wants to publicly express concerns about U.S. negotiations with Iran. With some Democrats skipping the speech by the Israeli prime minister, there will be plenty of open seats.

Kasich told POLITICO during an interview Monday night that he’s also making plans to travel to New Hampshire. Two weeks ago he was in South Carolina, another early state on the nominating calendar, on his crusade to promote a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution.

“All options are on the table,” he said during an evening sit-down at the Capital Hilton. “I’ve made no decision, and there’s no timetable right now. I understand the realities of political decision-making, but there’s no reason for me to have to make any decision at this point.”

“I think we’re going to go to New Hampshire sometime soon,” he added. “I’ve gotten I don’t know how many invitations to go there.”

Setting him apart from the governors currently in the GOP field, Kasich’s trip to Washington highlights his national security experience, although much of it dates back to the 1990s or earlier. He sat on the Armed Services Committee while in Congress and recalled his role in shepherding the Goldwater-Nichols Department of Defense Re-authorization Act of 1986.
