Wendy Davis Vows Continued Abortion Fight

0

Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis (who Governing named one of last year's legislators to watch) was thrust into the national spotlight last week after her 11-hour filibuster killed a restrictive abortion bill that would have closed 37 of the state's 42 clinics.

With the first special session expiring before Republicans could pass the bill, Texas Gov. Rick Perry called a second one, which began July 1, to vote on the legislation. Over the weekend, Davis appeared on ABC's 'This Week,' and discussed the support she's received from around the world and how she plans to continue to keep the bill from becoming a law.
