Public Build tells the story of the things that state and local government builds. It is GOVERNINGís gallery of galleries of public works. They move us and keep the economy rolling - roads, bridges, railroads and ports (sea, air, space). They make modern life possible, including the electrical and communication grids, canals and pipelines. They are the libraries, schools and other buildings plus parks, beaches and public squares that help make communities better places to work, live and raise a family. They are as modest as a trolley car or as majestic as the Hoover Dam. They date from depression-era WPA of last century and fresh ground breaking today. We welcome your feedback, photos, ideas and tips at mailbox@governing.com.
