2018 State Elections Forecast

Louis Jacobson, Politifact senior correspondent and Governing contributor, tracks every statewide race for governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and House and Senate.

He makes his predictions based on consultations with multiple experts in the states as well as national party strategists.

As it stands, Republicans hold the majority of every office -- with 33 governors, 27 attorneys general, 28 secretaries of state, 36 senate chambers and 31 house chambers.
