Lawmakers sought to ease concerns by agreeing to a series of changes to the proposal. But a miscommunication with Statehouse staff members means that the revised version is not the one that passed.
As a result, almost everyone agrees that the plan that sits on the governor’s desk is too broad in what it allows and will require a legislative fix in the next few months.
