In Race for Maryland Governor, County Exec Lands Endorsement From Peer

In his Democratic race for Maryland governor, Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker’s latest endorsement comes from his neighboring county’s executive.

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett on Tuesday endorsed Baker not on Maryland soil, but in D.C. — in the familiar surroundings of Howard University School of Law.

Leggett was a law school dean at Howard in the mid-1980s, when Baker was a student. He has also served as a mentor to his fellow county executive.
