Bush-Era Education CFO Named Detroit Schools New Emergency Manager
Jack Martin has been serving as Detroit's chief financial officer since spring 2012, when state intervention in city government began.
Gov. Rick Snyder on Monday announced Jack Martin as the new emergency manager for Detroit Public Schools.
Martin has been serving as Detroit's chief financial officer since spring 2012, when state intervention in city government began.
He previously served as CFO of the U.S. Department of Education under President George W. Bush.
He replaces Roy Roberts, who intended to retire months ago, but was asked to stay by the governor.
