Pennsylvania Launches Unique Career Website

In an effort to help its residents manage a tough job market the state of Pennsylvania has created a unique website, www.pacareercoach.org, which is free to users. The site developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry has a range of features. Users simply enter their name and ZIP code to start and can then see regularly updated local employment data, current and projected job openings, areas with the greatest potential for job growth, and estimated earnings for various occupations. There are also options to match a user's skills with current openings, links to where local training or education can be found for jobs the user might be interested in pursuing and a resume builder. The state hopes that the website will be more than a job search site and is the first part of a state-wide job-matching initiative that will continue to launch this year.
