Michigan Businesses to Sell Exports on Chinese E-Commerce Site

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation and an export services company want to help the state's businesses with unique opportunity to access on one of China's e-commerce sites.

A new program created by a partnership between the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and export services company Export Now could provide Michigan's businesses a unique opportunity to sell their wares in China. The program will allow companies to explore the option of selling their goods within a Michigan-themed area on Chinese e-commerce site Tmall at a lower risk and at roughly the same cost as selling domestically. Companies will pay $1,000 per year during the pilot to use the exportation services, in addition to paying a small transaction cost with each sale. Four forums are scheduled throughout April for consumer businesses interested in pursuing this foreign market.
