New Census App Keeps Users Up-to-date on Economy
A new U.S. Census Bureau mobile application provides users with monthly and quarterly data for sixteen economic indicators. The app, "America's Economy," is available for both Android and iPhone users and compiles statistics from the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The statistics cover key areas of the economy such as retail sales, construction, manufacturing, gross domestic product, the unemployment rate and more. Users are able to view a calendar that shows when new statistics will be released and have the option of setting up email notifications. The app also enables sharing on both Facebook and Twitter. It's expected that the app will eventually include regional breakdowns of the statistics.
