The National League of Cities, in partnership with TV Worldwide, launched an Internet-based TV channel in July in an effort to communicate the latest news, issues and views of the more than 19,000 cities, villages and towns it represents. NLC TV not only hosts a monthly newscast on the latest issues facing localities, live and taped webcasts, archived event footage and other video programming but is a searchable resource for local officials. The channel is also working to attract content from elected officials on innovative programs, best practices and hot topics in their communities. NLC TV was piloted for 18 months on National City Network before it was folded over to its new web address. The videos are available in digital broadcast quality for use by TV news outlets and local cable channels. To learn more, visit www.nlctv.org.
