If your creative is Standard Flash, the creative shop developer can add a clickTag to the clickable area of your creative and send the SWF to us for trafficking. You can't include any Rich Media components in Standard Flash creatives.

Flash and Rich Media Ad Creative Requirements:

You can build a creative as standard Flash if it meets these requirements:

  • It's a single SWF file of 40K or less.
  • It contains no video or expansion.
  • The only tracking required is a single click-through.

Standard Flash Requirements

  • E.REPUBLIC's ad server doesn't support Flash 10.2, Flash 11, or Flash 12. Make sure that your Flash (SWF) files are Flash 10.1 or lower. Ads built with ActionScript Version 3 (AS3) are not guaranteed to work, therefore we recommend using AS2 to build your Flash creative.
  • Your Flash file must not exceed 40K.
  • Buttons must have the clickTag expression (see below) in place of embedded URLs.
  • Click Tag - the clickTag expression must be attached to a button object and called on release. For example:

on (release) {getURL(clickTag, "_blank");} Read detailed instructions here.

  • Do not embed any URLs in the Flash file - include linking URLs in an email or other document.
  • For best results, we recommend having the button object encompass the entire ad area throughout the entire timeline.
  • Due to performance considerations, animation is limited to 3 loops, 24 frames per second and total animation length is limited to 15 seconds
  • All Flash ads must be provided as SWF files and accompanied by an alternate image (GIF or JPG) of the same dimensions. Images must meet the file size specs for that ad size.
  • Onload play audio is not permitted.
  • Loading files from cross domains is not permitted for security reasons.

All Rich Media ads must be third party served. Your ad is considered Rich Media if one or more of these statements about the creative is true:

  • it exceeds 40K
  • it requires multiple SWFs to function
  • it requires that some files be politely loaded
  • it contains video
  • it expands
  • it requires counter or timer tracking
  • it has multiple click-throughs
  • it contains other special features (polling, send-to-a-friend, gallery, etc.)

If your creative is Rich Media, you must build it using HTML5 or Flash (AS2, Version 10.1 or lower).

If your creative is rich media, you must submit 3rd party tags.

It's worth noting here that many mobile devices do not support Flash-based rich media, and ads of this type will not display on our websites when viewed with such devices. This includes Apple iOS devices (e.g. iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch), which don’t allow Flash, and Android 2.2 devices (e.g. Droid, myTouch, etc.), which require users to download Flash to the device. Rich media ads created with HTML5 can achieve many of the same interactive, video-rich features possible with Flash-based rich media.

No conditions, other than those set forth in these Terms and Conditions, will be binding on any insertion order for any E.REPUBLIC owned property unless specifically agreed to in writing by an authorized Advertising Operations representative of E.REPUBLIC.

Insertion Orders

A signed insertion order is required to hold inventory placement for a client. Acceptance of an insertion order (herein after referred to as "IO") is subject to availability, and inventory will only be held upon receipt by E.REPUBLIC of a signed contract or IO. Agreements in contracts and IOs are applicable to only the individual contract or IO and will not apply to any other contract or IO.

Invoicing and Payments

CPM billing is based on E.REPUBLIC's ad server impressions unless otherwise specified. CPL billing is based on E.REPUBLIC's leads delivered unless otherwise specified. Payment is due in full upon receipt of the invoice. Refunds will not be given for delivered display ad impressions, sent newsletters or delivered content syndication leads.

Advertising Rates

All IOs are accepted subject to the provisions of the current rate card. Revisions to accepted IOs must be made in writing and acknowledged by both parties in writing. Rates are subject to change at any time.

Right to Refuse

Content of display ads, newsletter ads and syndicated content (herein after referred to as "advertisements") are subject to approval by an authorized E.REPUBLIC Advertising Operations representative. E.REPUBLIC reserves the right to review and reject any advertising material.

Advertisement Positioning

Positioning of advertisements is at the sole discretion of E.REPUBLIC except where exact positioning is specified in the IO and approved by an authorized E.REPUBLIC Advertising Operations representative.

Materials Submissions

Correct materials must be received ten (10) business days in advance of scheduled live date for Rich Media display ad campaigns, Special Issue newsletter campaigns and custom content syndication campaigns.
